About us

Babis Bach Babies combine live music from classically trained musicians with interactive storytelling. Their sessions aim to support pre-school education by encouraging language learning in both Welsh and English, introduce topical themes through song and movement and develop confidence through participation.

Megan (harpist) and Ellie (storyteller) met in 2011 whilst studying at the RWCMD. After graduating they pursued seperate career paths in particular working in the fields of music, education and mothers' mental health. In 2021 they met up with their young babies and discussed a need for a bilingual class with live music, integrating all of their passions. Babis Bach Babies was then formed.

Since they formed they have worked with several organisations. Most recently they filmed an episode for S4c's 'Iaith ar Daith' in which the actress Kimberley Nixon joined the duo for a session. In 2024 their original song 'Diwrnod ar y Fferm' was comissioned by BookTrust Cymru as part of their Big Welsh Rhymetime Campaign. They have also worked closely with Senedd Cymru where they delivered a session on St David's Day, encouraging parents to share their views in the iconic building and also in their stand at the National Eisteddfod 2024.

The duo both live in Pontyclun with their partners and between them they have five children under the age of 4.
